Malaysian Visa Cardholders Can Now Use Apple Pay

Visa confirmed today that they are collaborating with Ambank, Maybank, and Standard Chartered Bank to provide Apple Pay to its cardholders in Malaysia.

Apple Pay is a secure, contactless, and simple method to pay that eliminates the need for customers to hand over their payment card, push physical buttons, or exchange currency and it leverages the power of the iPhone to secure every transaction.

To make a contactless payment, Visa cardholders from partner banks may just hold their iPhone or Apple Watch near a payment terminal. Every transaction is safe since it is verified using Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode, as well as a one-time unique dynamic security code.

The mobile payment service is accepted in merchant locations worldwide that allow contactless payments, such as restaurants, transit, supermarkets, convenience stores, retail shopping, and many more.

Aside from face-to-face transactions, cardholders may use the payment service on iPhone, iPad, and Mac to make faster and more convenient purchases in applications or online without having to register accounts or key in shipping and billing information repeatedly.

Apple Pay simplifies payments for online shopping, transit, trip booking, tickets, food & dining, and other services and now also be used to pay for applications on the Apple Watch.

The payment service is built on security and privacy where customers’ credit card numbers are not saved on the device or on Apple servers when using it. Instead, a Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and securely kept in the Secure Element, an industry-standard, certified chip designed to securely keep payment information on the device.
