It doesn’t matter what time of the year it is, it’s always a good time to help those who are in need. In which case, Celcom Axiata Berhad recently has done just that. It was a joint effort between Celcom staffs and Skim Latihan 1Malaysia (SL1M) trainees, led by Zuraida Jamaludin, Celcom’s Chief Corporate Officer.

Occupants of Rumah Kebajikan dan Bimbingan At-Taqwa were treated with fun activities such as karaoke session where the winner were presented with hampers. Celcom brought the spirit of Hari Raya to the kids and gave them a day to enjoy themselves for a change for half a day. Goodie bags were given to the children, all 55 of them in total.

Afterwards, Celcom visited the Rumah Jagaan dan Rawatan Orang-orang Tua Al-Ikhlas where most of the occupants are sadly bed-ridden. With them being elderly, it was nice to see the participants spent time and shared stories and experiences with the occupants while giving them food. No one should be feeling left out no matter how old they are, especially during the festive period.

Besides the two organizations, Celcom also offered a helping hand towards Pusat Kebajikan Jagaan Sri Sai Selangor and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Mental Selangor as part of their corporate responsibility initiative. The spotlight of the initiative is the contribution of RM100,000 to the representatives of the four organizations, resulting from the number of views and likes from Celcom’s ‘Letter’s From Mak’ videos have gathered. The video was the company’s Raya initiative to go with the Aidilfitri celebrations.

Pokdepinion: I think no one would say bad or negative things when they see the less fortunate or needy people getting help, especially in the festive period. A kind gesture showed by Celcom here. Kudos.
