TNB is Giving Free Electricity and Discounts for 3 Months Worth
If you’re a Malaysian citizen then we have some good news for you. The government has formally announced more discounts and rebates, worth an additional RM942 million, for electricity bills nationwide under the Bantuan Prihatin Elektrik Tambahan program.

According to Energy and Natural Resources Minister, Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, the Bantuan Prihatin Elektrik Tambahan will be effective on top of the existing electricity bill discounts offered by TNB (Tenaga Nasional Berhad) as part of the economic stimulus package.
This effectlive means that 4 million domestic consumers with electricity consumption of 300 kWh and below per month will have free electricity for April, May, and June 2020. As for domestic customers with usage of more than 300 kWh per month, you will be getting a discount of RM77 per month over the same period.
The rebates will be reflected in the users bill in July 2020, so don’t panic if you don’t see anything in your latest bill. This comes after massive complaints by consumers of being overcharged in their latest bill. TNB has also stated that they will not be cutting off electricity for anyone until 30th September 2020.
Pokdepinion: Well, I won’t say no to discounts but I still find my latest bill a little odd. I’m still waiting for them and the Energy Commission to respond to my issue.
