When we talk about browsers, everyone has their very own personal preference. High majority of them would opt to use Google Chrome which is understandable, but Mozilla Firefox is a pretty decent option as well. Released back in 2002, Firefox has been receiving updates on a regular and steady basis. With the years passing by, they finally announced that they are pulling the plug for any kind of support or updates for Windows XP and Vista users, beginning June 2018.

Firefox Discontinues Support For Older Systems

Mozilla Says Goodbye To Windows XP And Vista Users - Support Ends Next Year 21So how does this affect the average user you might ask? You still can use Firefox on your Windows XP and Vista but at the risk of some cons. The main issue here is you won’t be getting any more security updates, and with no security updates, your data is less secured over the web.

Firefox aren’t the first to dropped support. Back in 2016, Google had already made the move. This isn’t surprising as all browser makers has urged us to make the move to Windows 10, for our own security and protection of course. Even Mozilla has said that the older browser versions include many security vulnerabilities, making them dangerous for usage.

Last year we announced that Windows XP and Vista users would be automatically moved to the Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR), ensuring them continued updates until at least September 2017. Today we are announcing June 2018 as the final end of life date for Firefox support on Windows XP and Vista. As one of the few browsers that continue to support Windows XP and Vista, Firefox users on these platforms can expect security updates until that date. Users do not need to take additional action to receive those updates. We strongly encourage our users to upgrade to a version of Windows that is supported by Microsoft. Unsupported operating systems receive no security updates, have known exploits, and are dangerous for you to use Mozilla Firefox

Pokdepinion: Personally, I prefer using Firefox instead of Chrome. Chrome was just taking too big of a memory.
