The Google Play Store may have just gotten a dark mode, but probably even gloomier is foodpanda. The app is now probably the lowest rated app on the Play Store, as netizens decided to not only vote with their wallet, but also with their Google accounts.

Initially, users were calling for a boycott of the app by uninstalling the apps from their devices en masse in support of the riders. However some bright ones then suggested giving the foodpanda app a low rating, with the goal being the removal of the app from the Play Store by Google given the low ratings.

This was at 12pm 12th October… How low can it go?

The whole fiasco started when foodpanda decided to adjust their riders’ salary structure, although it was probably worse when foodpanda Malaysia’s Managing Director added even more fuel to the fire when questioned about the decision by malaysiakini.

Just for laughs, I Googled for the “lowest rated play store app” and stumbled upon the One Star App: The Lowest Rated App. And guess what, it got a better rating at 1.6/5.0. So yeah, I do believe the headline is pretty accurate.

We doubt Google will remove the app since foodpanda is a legit company. Meanwhile, over on Apple’s App Store, the app still enjoys a strong 3.7 star rating. I guess there are more Android users in support of this movement than iOS users?

Are you sure? Did you pluck this out of facebook? A quick visit to the google play store shows it is 3.1.

Hi, you can see the screenshot we have taken at 12pm on 12th October, where the 1.1 star rating is reflected.

Some of our readers have already noted that Google has been deleting spammed 1-star ratings from foodpanda’s Play Store listing, aside from a surge of 5-star ratings in the past few days. You can join the discussion over at FB as well: https://www.facebook.com/pokde.net/posts/2468185996558460

Pls cut the bullshit. Ur screen shot shows there is ZERO 4,3,2 stars. ABSOLUTE ZERO. But there are consistently 2,3&4 stars reviews for every past week.

The bars scale, and perhaps the number of 2,3,4 star ratings were too low to appear on the scale. As you can see on the Play Store now, the bar for 5-star ratings are a lot higher than for the 2,3,4 star ratings. So with the recent influx of 1-star ratings, it would probably have skewed it to make it look like there are no ratings in the aforementioned categories.

I would like to once again reassure you that I did the screenshot from the Play Store myself, and it was exactly as what I saw during the time. Do you have a screenshot from that date and time that says otherwise?
