Google Maps To Let You Report Traffic Slowdowns Soon
It seems that Google Maps will soon add an option to report slow traffic on the navigation platform, expanding from the previously introduced crash and speed traps report.
Now traffic slowdowns isn’t something new on Google Maps but beforehand, it was all based on Google own data and not the user’s. With the new update, it will provide a better accuracy when it comes to traffic jams on the road.
When there’s enough reports that a road is congested or slowing down, you’ll be notified and Maps may even give you an option to actually change the route that you are supposed to take. The new update is now rolling out gradually to Google Maps users, so if you haven’t gotten it yet, you’d need to wait further. It is not yet confirmed on whether iOS users will get the update.
Pokdepinion: I don’t know about you, but I prefer to use Waze instead. Still, a nice feature to add to Google Maps though. Make sure to make reports if there’s slowdowns near you guys, I want to drive smoothly on the road 😛
