Snapchat’s Study Acknowledge Malaysians Among Friendliest People In The World
Snap Inc. , the company behind popular app Snapchat, took the time today to unveil their recent study on the friendliest people in the world. In an event that they did in Petaling Jaya today, they’ve revealed that Malaysians are actually one of the friendliest people around the globe.
At the event, it was joined by Dr Nur Hafeeza Ahmad, a sociologist and researcher from UKM, Lisa Surihani, as well as Ili Sulaiman, who each gave their own thoughts on the topic ‘friendship’.
In the Friendship Report, it seems that Malaysians like to collect friends. Compared to those countries in Europe and even Australia and America, Malaysians were found to have around twice as many best friends. In addition to that, Malaysians diversify their social circle in terms of age, gender, race, and sexuality.
Interestingly, those who are from Gen Z are moving towards smaller and more intimate circles of friends. Other generations are open to having as many friends as possible. Specifically for Gen Y, they are the most share-happy generation and the most likely to share on a social media platform.
According to the study as well, it looks like the number one thing that people prefer in a friendship is honesty between themselves and their best friends. Not to forget, for their best friends to be more honest and open about their feelings.
