Waze has announced today that Cantonese is officially available as one of the platform’s voice navigation option here in Malaysia.

Cantonese Now Available On Waze

You can now opt to choose Cantonese as your voice navigation option on the navigation app. The latest inclusion was made possible through users hailing from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore, USA, United Kingdom, and of course, Malaysia, who all volunteered their time and effort to help make the app more inclusive.

The new language addition took two months to be prepared on the app, where it was achieved by the Waze localization team who adapted the language from the existing Chinese languages, working together by adjusting Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese to Chinese HK.

In addition to that, the team also selected a Hong Kong-approved Chinese language voice to ensure precise pronunciation and directions to give drivers a clear and secure driving experience.

Waze has now over 50 languages available. You can test it yourself as the app is free on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Pokdepinion: I guess having more options is good right? It provides more choices for users to select the language that they excel at.
