According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will improving their built-in Voice Notes feature by adding a feature that will allow users to pause and resume a recording. Interestingly, there seems to be a new UI for Voice Notes to accommodate the new feature.

Instead of the standard hold to record and slide to cancel, this one has a new “Stop” button, which will also turn into “Resume” after pressing it. The idea here is to let you send a single voice recording instead of multiples for a much easier time.

This new feature is expected to roll out for both Android and iOS versions of WhatsApp, and those who opted for the beta via Play Store and TestFlight can try it out earlier. Due to the fact that the preview shown is on the iOS version, there is a likely chance that it will pop up for iPhones first, in beta form, before Android.

For now, no word yet on when the feature will be making its way to the public version. We will report more on this as soon as information becomes available so stay tuned.
