Exciting news for smartphone enthusiasts as Qualcomm is set to unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC this October. Leading the charge in adopting this cutting-edge technology, Xiaomi will introduce the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, the first smartphones to feature this top-tier chipset.
Xiaomi 15 Pro: Cutting-Edge Camera and Display Innovations

According to renowned Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 15 Pro will boast a revolutionary camera setup. The device will feature a new single, wide aperture main camera with a 50 MP resolution and a “super large” sensor, moving away from the variable aperture found in its predecessor. This main camera will be complemented by a 50 MP 3x telephoto periscope zoom camera, promising exceptional photographic capabilities.
In addition to its impressive camera system, the Xiaomi 15 Pro will be slightly thinner than its predecessor, enhancing its sleek design. The smartphone will also sport a “2K” resolution micro-curved screen, similar to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, offering an immersive viewing experience. Other notable features include an extra-large battery and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor for added security and convenience.

While the Xiaomi 14 Pro was not officially available outside of China, there are concerns that the Xiaomi 15 Pro might face a similar fate. However, the anticipation surrounding its advanced features and powerful performance continues to grow.
Previous rumors suggest that the Xiaomi 15 Pro’s ultrawide camera will also have a 50 MP resolution. The main camera is expected to utilize the 1″-type OmniVision OV50K sensor, while the periscope zoom camera will reportedly employ the Sony IMX882 sensor. These specifications indicate a strong focus on delivering superior imaging capabilities across various photography scenarios.
Pokdepinion: I’m okay with this since most people don’t really bother nor realize about the variable aperture anyway. On smartphones, we just want to snap and have it look good in as simple of a manner as possible after all, at least for the most of us.
