The ASUS ProArt Display 8K PA32KCX is launching soon as the so-called “world’s first 8K HDR mini-LED professional monitor,” which will be available beginning this month globally. The monitor features 4032-zone local dimming, 1200 nits peak brightness, and 1000 nits sustained brightness, on top of the ultra-high 8K resolution it offers.

The ProArt PA32KCX features an 8K (7680 x 4320) resolution IPS panel with a pixel density of 275 PPI (pixels per inch), or double the figure over a 32-inch 4K display, and even higher than the 218 PPI on Apple Pro Display XDR with 6K resolution. The mini-LED panel with over 4,000 dimming zones require a lot of orchestration, so there’s multiple integrated control chips involved here to manage them for consistent brightness and reduced flicker during transitions.
ASUS is also not compromising anything on the color department, with 95% of Adobe RGB, 97% of DCI-P3, 100% of sRGB, and 100% of Rec. 709 color gamut coverage, along with a factory-calibrated Delta-E value of less than 1 (human eye imperceptible) and true 10-bit color with 1.07 billion colors supported. In terms of HDR, the PA32KCX supports multiple HDR formats including Dolby Vision, HDR10, and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG).
The monitor integrates a motorized flip colorimeter for self-calibration and supports automated calibration scheduling through the on-screen display, which is then saved inside monitor’s hardware so color is consistent irrespective of devices connected to it. The monitor is also compatible with calibration tools such as Calman and Light Illusion ColourSpace CMS.
Additional features include an ambient light sensor for automatic brightness adjustment, a proximity sensor that dims the screen when unattended, built-in KVM, picture-in-picture (PIP), and picture-by-picture (PBP). Display connectivity includes a DisplayPort 2.1 port, dual HDMI 2.1 ports, and dual Thunderbolt 4 ports – one of which delivers up to 96W power, while the other supports daisy-chaining multiple displays. For its design, the PA32KCX’s stand offers full articulation, along with a quick-release VESA mount and a wraparound hood to minimize glare and reflections.
While ASUS announced global availability for the ProArt Display 8K PA32KCX begins this October, the company has noted that Malaysia market specifically will be addressed at a later date.
Pokdepinion: Given its specs, it’s looking like one of the most expensive monitors you can get short for going into specialized models.
