Low profile keyboards are the standard in office keyboards, but they’re very much a rarity in the gaming realm. Logitech notably has produced the G813 (and its sister model, G913) serving as the company’s flagship gaming keyboard with low-profile designs, but they’re costly – so the new Logitech G515 LIGHTSPEED TKL is here to bring the entry barrier just a bit lower.

Logitech G515: The Basics

For starters, the Logitech G515 doesn’t come with full-size form factor; it’s strictly tenkeyless (TKL). Most gamers would be fine with this since this gives them extra mouse space, but if you’re a sucker for numeric keypads, you’re out of luck (or just look for the G813/G913 instead). The design is noticeably different, too, featuring a top bar that somewhat resembles some of the earlier Corsair keyboards.

The entire keyboard measures 22mm thick (similar to a typical gaming laptop), with an ultra-short actuation distance of just 1.3mm, while the keys themselves bottoms out at 3.2mm. On top of that, the G515 has been given extra treatment with a built-in sound-dampening foam, pre-lubed switches, integrated stabilizers, and double-shot PBT keycaps for durability. Logitech offers two switch options: tactile or linear, and each key can be configured via G HUB software to enable KEYCONTROL feature, which allows up to 15 actions to be mapped per key.

Paired with compatible Logitech mice, the G515 can also support 2:1 LIGHTSPEED wireless pairing, which allows both devices to share a single LIGHTSPEED USB dongle to free up an additional port. Speaking of wireless connectivity, this keyboard supports tri-mode connectivity via the aforementioned LIGHTSPEED wireless, Bluetooth, as well as the classic wired mode via USB-C. One full charge will provide up to 36 hours of battery life – but you likely have to turn RGB off for that.

The Logitech G515 is now available in Malaysia, costing RM669 apiece and available in Black or White colors.
