Local game developer Weyrdworks has confirmed that the “Fishing with Friends” update for Weyrdlets is now live, introducing new areas, features, and gameplay options. The update was first teased during the South East Asia Games Showcase.
Weyrdlets “Fishing with Friends” Update

This major update for Weyrdlets adds a new map extension called Cozy Cove, featuring a beach area with sand, sea, a lighthouse, and a pier. Players can fish, take on small quests, or socialize with friends in shared or private lobbies; fishing can be done solo or in groups, with caught fish available for trade, consumption, or display.
For the first time, Weyrdlets is getting a third-person pet mode, allowing players to control their pets in the Playground and Cozy Cove, interact with other players, and use new features such as an emote wheel. Multiplayer rooms in Cozy Cove will also have an in-game text chat system for players to communicate with each other.

Two new non-playable characters will appear in the update: Nessie, a merchant offering exclusive items in exchange for fish, and the Saplings, which serve as easter eggs for an upcoming game mode. Additional content includes mini-games, small quests, new Steam achievements, and two new MiniPets – Biji and Kotak – from a collaboration with Malaysian animation studio Hide and Seeds (available via DLC).
