AMD has expanded FSR Upscaling 4.1 support to a significantly wider range of hardware with the release of AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.10.1. The update brings the machine learning-based upscaling technology to Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics cards, Ryzen AI Max processors, Ryzen AI 9 processors, select Ryzen Z2 processors, and Xbox Series consoles (which arrives later).
AMD Extends FSR Upscaling 4.1 Support

AMD FSR 4 originally launched exclusively for Radeon RX 9000 Series GPUs in 2025, before expanding to Radeon RX 7000 Series GPUs in July 2026. The latest Adrenalin Edition 26.10.1 driver extends that reach considerably further, bringing FSR Upscaling 4.1 to hardware dating back to 2020.
For Radeon RX 6000 Series GPU users, AMD has optimized the INT8 model originally developed for the RX 7000 Series to run on older hardware. This gives owners of those cards a meaningful image quality improvement over the FSR 3.1 solution that was previously their only option, without requiring new hardware.

Ryzen AI Max APU systems, including devices such as the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 and TUF Gaming A14 laptops, now gain access to FSR Upscaling 4.1 for the first time, while a purpose-built, more efficient version of FSR Upscaling 4.1 has also been introduced for Ryzen AI 9 processors and the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, Ryzen Z2 Extreme, and Ryzen Z2 A processors found in gaming handhelds and mainstream laptops.
Xbox CTO Scott Van Vliet confirmed during AMD’s announcement video that FSR Upscaling 4.1 is coming soon to Xbox Series X|S consoles, though a specific release date has not been provided.
Adrenalin Edition 26.10.1 also includes several additional updates – FSR 4 Vulkan support is arriving for developers via the upcoming FSR SDK 2.4 update, expected in the coming weeks; the driver also introduces frame pacing improvements for FSR Frame Generation on Radeon RX 9000 Series graphics cards, which should hopefully reduce microstuttering issues.
Pokdepinion: Finally delivering on their promises.
