Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has established the Mercedes-AMG ONE Service Hub at Hap Seng Star Bukit Tinggi, located at the southern side of Klang, Selangor, as Southeast Asia’s first and only dedicated service facility for the Formula 1-derived hypercar.
The purpose-built hub joins a select global network that includes facilities in Germany, Switzerland, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, and Japan, to service a car so technologically demanding that its CEO thought “we were drunk when we said yes” when Mercedes’ High Performance Powertrains department – responsible for the very engine that powered the 2015 F1 championship-winning W06 Hybrid and the eventual hypercar project – came up with the original idea.
Mercedes-AMG ONE Service Hub @ Bukit Tinggi

The facility was developed with an investment of RM2.2 million and is engineered specifically around the technical demands of the Mercedes-AMG ONE. Working alongside the existing hub in Japan, the Malaysian facility extends specialized service coverage across the wider Asia-Pacific region, leveraging the country’s multi-modal logistics infrastructure and strategic connectivity by land, sea, and air.
You may ask, why all the effort and facilities specifically for just this one car? Well, like we said, Mercedes-AMG ONE is technologically demanding, even by hypercar standards. It’s got a PU106B-derived 1.6-litre V6 turbo engine with four electric motors to produce a total system output of over 1,063hp with engine speeds reaching up to 11,000rpm, which somehow managed to meet the modern world’s strict roadgoing emissions regulations to make it road-legal.
Formula 1 fans would know that these engines, often referred as “power units” in the contexts of the sport, requires swaps every few races throughout the season; while accordingly adapted for road use, the engine in the roadgoing hypercar still requires very frequent servicing intervals (per 5,000km, or about six Grand Prix weekends’ worth of distance), with a mandatory engine check-up or rebuild per 50,000km. All of that could easily explain why Mercedes needs highly specialized facilities to handle 275 of AMG Ones around the world, including this corner of the map.

The Bukit Tinggi facility addresses these requirements through dedicated infrastructure that includes specialized high-voltage tools, vehicle-specific diagnostic equipment, controlled storage and working conditions, and direct technical coordination with Mercedes-AMG specialists in Affalterbach. Technicians at the hub have undergone certified training from Mercedes-AMG, qualifying them to carry out approved diagnostic, maintenance, and service procedures for the vehicle.
Notably, a key advantage of the facility is its proximity to the Mercedes-Benz Parts Logistics Asia Pacific hub, also based in Malaysia. This allows the German automaker optimize inventory management and parts distribution, reducing downtime for replacement parts and maintenance requirements across the region. The facility also features in-country technical Flying Doctors, who provide immediate first-level response across the region, alongside dedicated liaison officers to support international and regional clientele.
Pokdepinion: Malaysia now services a 1,063hp Formula 1 road car, and that is a flex most countries cannot claim. (We can probably thank Petronas for this one.)
