vivo Malaysia has unveiled the vivo X500 Series in Kuala Lumpur today, consisting of three models: vivo X500 Pro Max, vivo X500 Pro and vivo X500. The headlining feature is the ZEISS telephoto camera system and concert video features, in line with the brand’s stated goal of leading in photography and videography.

vivo X500 Series: Camera Highlights

The vivo X500 Pro Max has a 200MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera with a 1/1.4-inch Samsung ISOCELL HP0 sensor and an 85mm equivalent focal length, along with CIPA 7.0 stabilization which helps to reduce shake-induced motion blur in high-exposure shots. It also supports the 400mm equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra and more than 10 shooting modes, including Stage, Snapshot and Pro.

Meanwhile, the vivo X500 Pro uses an 85mm equivalent ZEISS APO telephoto camera with a 64MP vivo x Sony LYTIA 610 sensor and ZEISS T* Coating; for telephoto, it supports the 200mm equivalent Telephoto Extender Gen 2. The vivo X500 has a 72mm equivalent ZEISS APO telephoto camera and a 50MP 1/1.28-inch main sensor, similar to the one in the vivo X300 Pro.

The X-Track Engine on the Pro Max and Pro handles fast-moving subjects, while Lock-On Subject Tracking keeps focus when a subject is briefly out of view or obstructed. The Super Snapshot Engine enables 30x Long-Range Motion Snapshot on the Pro Max and 20x on the Pro, and the Pro Max also supports AF Tracking at up to 60 fps in Snapshot Mode. Both models also offer 4K 120 fps Pro AF Tracking Video and Auto Framing Video. For concerts, Stage Mode 3.0 includes Auto Framing Fancam Video, 4K Dual-View Stage Video, 4K Stage All-in-One Recording and Super Telephoto Stage Snapshot.

The Pro Max and Pro also have a ZEISS TrueDynamic Main Camera – it supports Cinematic Pro Log Video tuned to a 17 EV dynamic range, 4K Dolby Vision Portrait Video and 4K Cinematic Portrait Video with color styles such as Sunny Day and Vibrant. It records native 4K 240 fps video, and the Pro Max adds 3° Gimbal-Grade OIS. Across the series, video options include Multi-Focal 4K 120 fps High-Spec Video and 4K Cinematic Color Video with styles such as Paris Afterglow, Golden Hour and Pastel. Film Style mode uses a 2.4:1 aspect ratio, while Movie Workshop offers Auto Framing and Vortex Shot for 360° rotating shots.

Performance, Battery, Display & OriginOS 7

The Pro Max and Pro run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, while the vivo X500 uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9600M. Battery-wise, the Pro Max has a 7,800mAh battery, the Pro has 6,510mAh and the X500 has 7,500mAh, the largest in the X Series so far. All three support 90W wired and 40W wireless FlashCharge. vivo says its 2nd-generation semi-solid-state battery technology works at temperatures as low as -20°C, while Bypass Charging reduces heat when the phone is used while charging, and on-device AI adjusts battery use based on usage patterns.

All models have a ZEISS Master Color Display with up to 2,000 nits of global peak brightness and a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. The Pro Max has a 6.85-inch 2K display, which vivo describes as its largest on a flat-screen phone; the Pro has a 6.36-inch display, and the X500 has a 6.59-inch display.

The X500 has a new Floating Camera Module (a la iPhone’s “Plateau”) in Dusk Black, Sunny White and Starry Gray. The Pro and Pro Max use Tideline Design, where the camera module slopes into the body, and come in Moonlit Black, Starry Gray and Sunset Orange. The series also has IP68/IP69 ratings, 3D Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanning, USB 3.2 and an infrared blaster.

The series is the first in Malaysia to run OriginOS 7. Origin Workbench supports floating windows and drag-and-drop file transfers between apps, while Origin Smooth Engine aims to keep animations responsive over time. The system works with Apple devices, including AirPods, Apple Watch and iCloud. Quick Share supports AirDrop interoperability, and vivo Office Kit connects with Mac computers through Jovi PC and Camera Sharing.

OriginOS 7 also adds Dynamic Translucent Material, Wiggle (Boing) and StickIt, which extracts subjects from photos for placement on the screen. AI tools include Snap & Go, which recognises information in screenshots, and AI Next Up, which turns detected schedules into home screen reminders. AI Recorder offers speaker recognition, transcript outlining and summaries, with six templates such as Meeting Summary, Lecture Notes and Interview Summary.
