Bolt for Business has released data on corporate travel patterns in Malaysia, revealing that 7AM is the busiest hour for work-related rides on the platform, followed closely by 5PM and 6PM. The findings, shared roughly one year after Bolt for Business launched in Malaysia in August 2025, show that employee mobility is heavily concentrated around the start and end of the standard working day. The Klang Valley has been identified as the leading area for Bolt for Business activity in the country.

The data paints a clear picture of how Malaysian corporate travel is structured: employees are booking rides during the morning commute and again as the workday ends. Beyond commuting to the office, work-related trips on the platform also include client meetings and other business journeys throughout the day. Unlike personal trips, corporate travels often involves company expenses, so managing these trips naturally involves more than just arranging transport.

Processes like approval workflows, expense claims, billing, and reconciliation can create administrative overhead for both employees and finance teams, which is what Bolt for Business aims to resolve – it allows organizations to manage work-related rides through a central company account, and from there, they can establish travel policies, control employee access, and consolidate business travel expenses, removing the need for employees to pay out of pocket and submit individual reimbursement claims.

Looking ahead to its second year of operations in Malaysia, Bolt says its focus is on helping more organizations simplify corporate travel arrangements and supporting the everyday mobility needs of their teams. “Employee travel can involve a lot of small administrative steps, both for the person taking the trip and the teams managing it. What we want to do with Bolt for Business is make that process more efficient,” said Afzan Lutfi, General Manager Malaysia at Bolt.

“What’s interesting about the travel patterns we’re seeing is how closely business mobility follows the working day. Companies need practical ways to support employees’ travel while maintaining visibility over how that travel is managed, making corporate travel easier to manage.”
