[E3 2021] Razer Blade 14 Powered by AMD Ryzen

At E3 2021, Razer has officially unveiled the Razer Blade 14 powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX. This laptop will also have the NVIDIA GeForce GTX RTX 3080 GPU so you can have some serious gaming performance in this ultraportable gaming laptop.

For the screen, gamers have the choice of either a 14-inch QHD 165Hz display or a 14-inch Full HD 144Hz display. Razer claims that this is the smallest 14-inch gaming laptop in the market, and it’s only 16.8mm thin. Despite the focus on minimizing the footprint, it still does include a built-in 720p webcam.

Apart from that, you have the per-key Razer Chroma RGB keyboard, THX Spatial Audio, battery life of up to 12 hours, Microsoft Precision Glass Touchpad, Windows IR camera, TPM 2.0, and Vapor Chamber Cooling for improved heat dissipation without excessive noise. Interestingly, it still does have a good array of connectivity options, coming in with the following:

  • 2 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C (Charging, DisplayPort 1.4 support)
  • 2 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A
  • 1 x HDMI 2.1
  • 1 x 3.5mm combo audio jack
  • Wi-Fi 6

It’s worth noting that there is also the new 130W Razer GaN (Gallium Nitride) charger. It has two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports with enough power to charge the laptop, other laptops, tablets, and smartphones at once despite being very compact

The Razer Blade 14 powered by AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX will be retailing for RM9,999 / USD $1,799.99.

Pokdepinion: With laptops this powerful within such a thin chassis, my biggest worry is always the thermal performance. I really want to see how well the vapor chamber cooling system performs, especially how close the temperatures are to thermal throttling.
