HONOR has officially launched the HONOR X6c in Malaysia as the latest model in its budget X Series smartphone lineup. Despite its rather unassuming looks and specs, it gets one feature that most smartphones don’t – a dedicated ‘AI button’.

Now, if you take a closer look at what ‘AI Button’ actually does, I wouldn’t blame you to think that calling it as such is a bit of a stretch. In reality, it’s more akin to Action Button found in recent iPhones – in this case, its primary function is launching one of six apps via a single press, while a long press brings up Google Lens. HONOR claims this feature is useful for users unfamiliar with smartphones, particularly elders and young users.
For its hardware, the HONOR X6c includes 8GB of RAM (plus another 8GB acting as virtual memory) and 256GB of storage, though its chipset is a 5-year-old MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra; display is a 6.61-inch 120Hz LCD panel, while battery capacity is rated at 5300mAh, with 35W fast charging that goes from 0% to 18% in 10 minutes. The smartphone gets SGS certification for its drop and crush resistance, withstanding falls from heights up to 1.5 meters; it also carries an IP64 rating for ingress protection.
The HONOR X6c is now available at all HONOR Experience Stores in Malaysia, offered in Ocean Cyan and Midnight Black at a retail price of RM599.
Pokdepinion: Now if that button is fully remappable, that’d be a big deal.
