Xiaomi’s budget-focused subsidiary POCO has launched the POCO C85 in Malaysia, an entry-level smartphone “developed for reliability, aesthetic appeal, and day-to-day performance,” according to the company’s press release.
POCO C85

The POCO C85 is equipped with a 6.9-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate that adjusts between 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz depending on usage, which helps saving extra battery when fast motion isn’t needed. The display is TÜV Rheinland certified for low blue light, flicker-free performance, and circadian-friendly use, with DC dimming and Wet Touch Technology 2.0 for improved usability.
Behind the screen lies the 6,000mAh battery, which POCO claims supports up to 22 hours of video playback, 82 hours of music, or 20 hours of reading. It charges via 33W fast charging, reaching 50% in 31 minutes, and supports 10W reverse charging to power other devices; performance comes courtesy of MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra chipset with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. It runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 2 (based on Android 15).
The device also includes a dual camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, although the company stopped short of explaining the nature of its secondary sensor aside from referring it as “auxiliary lens”. It also gets an 8MP front camera, while additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm headphone jack, and IP64 ingress protection rating.
The POCO C85 will be available on official POCO stores on Shopee, Lazada, and mi.com; early bird pricing is now open until 16 September. In terms of original pricing, the 6GB+128GB variant is priced at RM439, while the 8GB+256GB variant is priced at RM499.
