At CES 2025, Hisense presented its first microLED TV with gigantic sizes and ceiling-breaking specs as you’d imagine. This 136-inch absolute unit will lead the way for the new lineup, and the company has also brought a new 116-inch unit to serve the large-format premium segment.

Meet Hisense’s MicroLED TV

First, Hisense introduced the new RGB Local Dimming Display Technology, which features independent Red, Green, and Blue LED chips to achieve up to 97% of the BT.2020 color space. That is then translated into the monstrous 136-inch microLED TV called 136MX, the panel of which is considered the “holy grail” of display technology: it comes with all the benefits of OLED, while lacks the downsides such as aging and burn-in.

This enables the panel to deliver up to a staggering 10,000 nits of brightness with virtually infinite contrast through almost 25 million individual LED chips; and that also delivers 95% of the BT.2020 coverage. To reduce glare, Hisense says it also infused “black nanocrystals” to minimize the amount of light bouncing off the screen, thereby further increasing its black levels and contrast. It also features the brand’s Hi-View AI Engine X introduced in IFA last year to further optimize image quality.

There’s a reason why Hisense is willing to bet big on this still-unproven tech in the market. The Chinese TV maker reported it accounted for 63.4% of global TV shipments in the 100-inch and above category during Q3 2024; particularly, it nets second place in the high-end TV market with 24% of global market share in the same period. This likely is what convinces the leadership to further invest in cutting-edge tech to keep them ahead of the curve, and the new TV clearly shows that.

Pokdepinion: Huuuuuuuge (both literally and figuratively).
