You can now betray your crewmates in full first-person perspective without needing a full VR gear to do so: developer Innersloth announced that it is releasing another version of its popular hit, Among Us, in its full first-person glory. The game is now listed on Steam as “coming soon”, with a preview version available in the Steam Next Fest event.
Among Us, Now In 3D
While the 3D version of the game technically existed as Among Us VR back in 2022, the only way to play that version, as the name implies, requires a VR headset like Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2, and more. That’s not exactly the most convenient way to play the game, and for some, this may induce motion sickness. Thus, Among Us 3D will allow players to play on the PC through regular displays, and you can still cross-play with players on the VR version (which will be rebranded).

This version will also introduce a new in-game currency called “stardust”, which can be used to purchase cosmetic items; Innersloth stressed that this won’t be used for purchasing any game modes or features – the “pay-to-win” stuffs. Speaking of features, players will talk to each other through proximity-based voice chat, meaning your character has to be physically close enough to another player to start communicating.
The graphics requirements are still relatively beefy though, with minimums asking for NVIDIA GTX 1060 and 8GB RAM, though any decent laptop in the last year or two should have no problem getting optimal performance in this game. Keep in mind there is one limitation: the game is not compatible with the original, 2D version of the game.
Pokdepinion: This is going to be a lot more fun.
