ASUS has announced the launch of the NUC 14 Essential, a low-power entry-level mini PC powered by the new Intel N-series processors (codenamed Twin Lake). In total, there are four CPU options: the Core 3 N355, Intel N250, Intel N150, and the older, Alder Lake-based Intel N97.

On the top end with Core 3 N355, the NUC 14 Essential features 8 E-cores which accounts for 42% performance improvement compared to its predecessors. This 0.56-liter chassis, measuring 135 x 115 x 36mm, includes a VESA mounting kit; users can also upgrade memory and SSD via its access panel. For connectivity, the device includes Intel Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, 2.5GbE LAN port, HDMI, DisplayPort 1.4, a headphone jack, and various USB ports (including a USB 10Gbps Type-C port with DisplayPort support).

For reliable deployment in commercial settings, ASUS says it conducted extensive bake and humidity tests that exceed industry standards, with 1000 hours of bake testing at 100°C and 1400 hours of humidity testing at 70°C. The mini PC also includes a self-healing BIOS, HDMI CEC, and remote management capabilities to provide IT teams with easy access and maintenance if needed.

The ASUS NUC 14 Essential will be available in both standard and kit versions (no OS or components pre-installed), starting Q1 2025.
