NVIDIA has announced the addition of the GeForce RTX 5050 to its Blackwell lineup, with desktop and laptop variants launching this summer. Desktop versions of the RTX 5050 will be available in the second half of July at a starting price of $249, while laptops featuring this GPU are now available, starting from $999.
RTX 5050 Launching Soon

As usual, you can expect to find RTX 5050 desktop graphics cards from AIB partners including ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, Galaxy, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, MSI, Palit, PNY, and ZOTAC, along with select pre-built systems. Regardless of which card you end up picking, the specs are virtually identical: 2560 CUDA cores, paired with the previous-gen 8GB GDDR6 memory, and 130W TGP – meaning you’ll only need a single PCIe power connector to operate. Clock speeds are listed as 2.57GHz boost, though some factory-overclocked models will see slightly higher figures.
Interestingly, the mobile counterpart offers GDDR7 memory with the same 8GB capacity, meaning its memory specs are identical as the GPUs above its class, including RTX 5060 and even RTX 5070 Laptop GPUs. The reasoning behind adopting the newer memory standard comes down to power efficiency and heat generation considerations, as the chipmaker claims GDDR7 is “up to 2x more energy efficient” than GDDR6.
At the time of this writing, NVIDIA has not yet announced official local pricing for the desktop card. At current exchange rates, the GPU will costs around RM1,055 apiece – though expect the local pricing to be somewhere north of this figure.
