Fresh off the Made by Google keynote, Google has announced the new Pixel 10 series smartphones, along with wearables and audio devices bearing Pixel branding – these models include Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, alongside the Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2a.

Starting off, the Pixel 10 series are getting upgrades on batteries, display brightness, and camera systems; Google also touts its new AI features made possible by its new in-house Tensor G5 chipset and Gemini Nano model. This enables new features like “Magic Cue”, which Google says is designed to “proactively offer the right information at the right time,” such as displaying flight ticket information during a phone call discussing on flight plans.

The Pro models in particular also get the exclusive Pro Res Zoom feature with up to 100x magnification courtesy of “largest AI model ever used on Pixel Camera.” That doesn’t mean the camera hardware is lacking in raw horsepower though: all three Pixel 10s feature the new triple-camera setup, with the vanilla model using a 48MP+10.8MP+13MP setup, while the Pro pair gets a 50MP primary sensor coupled by 48MP telephoto (5x optical zoom via periscope lens) and 48MP ultrawide sensors.

Besides the cameras, these devices support built-in Qi2 wireless charging (up to 25W) along with Pixelsnap accessories – essentially Google’s version of MagSafe. On the software side, Google is also formally introducing its new Material 3 Expressive design language across the lineup, along with seven years of ‘Pixel Drops’, OS updates and security updates.

Google says pre-orders are now open with availability beginning August 28, with prices starting at RM3,999 for the Pixel 10 (featuring Obsidian, Frost, Indigo and Lemongrass colors), while Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL are priced from RM4,999 and RM5,999 respectively, featuring four colors: Obsidian, Porcelain, along with new options Moonstone and Jade.

But that’s not all for the Pixel 10 series: the fourth model bearing the name is the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which features a redesigned gearless hinge twice as durable as its predecessor, along with an 8-inch inner display, a larger battery, along with a camera setup similar to the base Pixel 10, except for a slightly different 10.8MP ultrawide sensor. On that note, its camera app also gets a foldable-exclusive feature called “Instant View” that enables side-by-side photo previews when the device is unfolded. Like the regular Pixels, pre-orders are now open, though it’ll only be available at October 9 with prices starting at RM7,999.

Pixel Wearables

On the wearables’ side, the new Pixel Watch 4 will be available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, both featuring the new domed Actua 360 display physically curved to deliver a 10% larger active area, 16% smaller bezels, and a 50% increase in brightness, now at 3,000 nits. They also get improved battery life, Gemini features, along with new health and fitness tools including smarter sleep tracking, additional workout modes, and a skin temperature sensor. It will be available in November through selected retailers, with prices starting at RM1,749 for the 41mm model and RM1,999 for the 45mm model.

Finally, the Pixel Buds 2a is Google’s smallest and lightest A-series earbuds to date, featuring the Tensor A1 chip found in Pixel Buds Pro 2 model responsible for ANC, audio processing, and noise reduction in calls. It’s IP54-rated, and runs up to 7 hours on a single charge, or a 20 hours with additional charging from the case. Plus, it’s even got a replaceable battery case – a big win for repairability. They will be available in two colors, Iris and Hazel, beginning October 9, priced at RM649.

Pokdepinion: Honestly, the Pixel Buds 2a with replaceable battery is the biggest deal of all in my opinion.
