ASUS’s gaming division is entering a new category of products courtesy of the ROG Gjallar, a gaming soundbar with 2.1.2-channel Dolby Atmos surround sound with left and right full-range speakers, tweeters, up-firing channels, and a wireless subwoofer to create a 3D soundstage.
ROG Gjallar Joins The Gaming Soundbar Competition

Quick trivia: the name Gjallar comes from Gjallarhorn (lit. “the loud sounding horn”) of Norse mythology, associated with Norse god Heimdallr (son of Odin). In this case, the ROG Gjallar is split into three components – an audio control hub, the soundbar, and a wireless subwoofer. Users can adjust EQ, lighting, and microphone settings through the web-based ASUS Gear Link tool or its companion mobile app.
The control surface features onboard EQ adjustments, playback controls, input source selection, and RGB lighting through an LCD display. Before you worry about the lack of a microphone, ASUS got that covered with built-in Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) microphones onboard that use AI beamforming algorithm to filter out teammate voices, in-game sounds, and ambient noise such as PC fans.

Meanwhile, the soundbar is responsible for four of the five channels involved with four 50mm full-range drivers and two 27mm tweeters, delivering a frequency response of 50Hz–20kHz (plus a dab of RGB lighting), the 6.5-inch, 65-watt 165mm wireless subwoofer connects via 5GHz wireless, itself featuring a relatively slim shape (only slightly bigger than a PS5 console) compared to most subwoofer designs. The entire system supports Dolby Atmos, too.
The soundbar connects via USB-C, HDMI 2.1 (eARC), optical and 3.5mm inputs in terms of wired options, whereas Bluetooth 5.3 allows wireless connections across PC, Mac, mobile devices, and PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch consoles. It supports up to 4K@120Hz pass-through via HDMI 2.1, while eARC is designed to provide synchronized audio and video output. A built-in USB hub with two USB Type-A ports supports wireless dongles, external storage, and other peripherals.

Availability and pricing for the ASUS ROG Gjallar in Malaysia will be announced at a later date through ROG Malaysia’s social media channels.
