The TECNO POVA 8 has officially launched in Malaysia, featuring an 8,000mAh battery, Ice Cooling System 3.0, and a customizable Alive Matrix Display, all wrapped in the series’ signature interstellar spaceship-inspired design. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 256GB UFS 2.2 storage and a 144Hz LCD display.

The TECNO POVA 8’s 8,000mAh battery is TÜV SÜD-certified for at least two days of typical daily use under tested conditions, and is designed to retain more than 80% of its original capacity after 2,000 complete charge cycles, equivalent to roughly six years of typical use. 45W fast charging gets the device to approximately 50% in around 35 minutes.
For cooling, the Ice Cooling System 3.0 features 15,000mm² of graphite surface area which delivers a 12.5% better thermal efficiency over the previous generation, and it is claimed to be capable of running games at up to 90FPS in titles such as Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Meanwhile, its in-house G1 Signal Enhancement Chip and SE1 Wi-Fi Enhancement Chip are claimed to boost cellular signal strength by up to 100% in challenging locations such as elevators and basements, while 2.4GHz Wi-Fi reception improves by up to 60% under “tested conditions.”
On the back of the TECNO POVA 8 is a pair of rear cameras (featuring a 50MP 1/1.95″ Sony LYTIA 600 sensor, and an unspecified auxiliary lens), with a third “camera bump” housing the Alive Matrix Display – a rear dot-matrix lighting system that acts as a notification indicator, in similar vein to ASUS ROG Phone series and Nothing smartphones. It supports 49 presets alongside customizable lighting patterns for incoming calls, messages, supported app notifications, charging, music playback, gaming, and even built-in mini-games.
Available in Arc White, Graphite Black, and Helios Orange colors, the TECNO POVA 8 carries a recommended retail price of RM1,399 for the sole 8+256GB storage configuration. The device is available exclusively through TECNO Malaysia’s Official Shopee Store from 24 July 2026, ahead of its nationwide retail rollout on 31 July 2026.
