The Global Learning Pass is open to all Malaysians holding a MyDigital ID – through it, learners gain access to courses offered by leading universities and industry partners worldwide on the Coursera platform. Course content spans AI fundamentals, data science, cloud computing, IoT, 5G, blockchain, machine learning and project management.

MyDIGITAL Corporation also developed a custom course specifically for this program using Coursera’s Course Builder tool. Titled Understanding Digital Transformation, the approximately two-hour beginner-friendly course introduces the technologies shaping Malaysia’s digital economy, including cloud computing, AI, machine learning, blockchain, IoT and 5G. Other popular courses in the first weeks of the rollout include Google’s AI Fundamentals, Foundations: Data, Data, Everywhere and Foundations of Project Management, reflecting learner demand for practical, job-relevant skills.

Within the first three weeks of the program launching, 12,900 learners had enrolled across 43,000 courses; the highest participation was recorded in Selangor, W.P. Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Pulau Pinang and Perak. The program forms part of the broader Rakyat Digital ecosystem and supports the Malaysia Digital 2030 Action Plan and the National AI Action Plan 2026-2030.

Pokdepinion: Free Coursera access for 100,000 Malaysians sounds great, but let’s see how many actually finish those courses.
