MSI invited us to their new official store’s grand opening at Lowyat 2nd floor on the 12th. This is the first ever MSI concept store in Malaysia where fans and potential buyers can experience the latest MSI notebooks with new technologies like Tobii eye tracking.

MSI showcased their latest GT72S Tobii with a simple game which uses the eye tracking technology to aim at the dots. _LJY7849 (Custom)The technology can also be used to control the view camera in Assassin’s Creed as well as a few other selected titles. Besides gaming it can also be used to improve the lives of disabled people, but I guess that isn’t MSI’s target market.

The premium Prestige series are also available for a touch and feel session at the store, as well as various MSI gaming peripherals. The MSI Vortex isn’t on display yet but I think it will be available soon enough.

MSI launched their workstation range, the WS and WT series at the event, revealing to us notebooks packing Intel Xeon processors and NVIDIA Quadro GPUs for professionals on the go. The WS and WT series are certified by Adobe and Autodesk to work perfectly with their software.

The WT series is based on the chassis of the GT series, which means more powerful cooling and also a thicker body. Meanwhile the WS series is based on the chassis of the GS series, which is well known to be among the thinnest high performance gaming laptops out there.
