Acer is expected to make their return to the smartphone market with two new entry-level devices: Acerpure Acerone Liquid S162E4 and Acerpure Acerone Liquid S272E4. Set to launch on March 25, these budget-friendly smartphones will mark Acer’s first mobile release in years. However, their six-year-old MediaTek chipsets raise questions about their performance in today’s market.
Acerpure Acerone Liquid S162E4 – Specs & Features

The Acerpure Acerone Liquid S162E4 features a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display with a waterdrop notch housing a 5MP selfie camera. On the back, the device sports a 16MP main sensor.
Under the hood, it runs on the MediaTek Helio P35 chipset, paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery with a USB-C port, and it ships with Android 14. Additional features include FM Radio, Bluetooth, and a hybrid dual nano-SIM slot.
The phone will launch in a single Blue color variant. The power button, positioned below the volume rocker, may double as a fingerprint scanner. Pricing remains unknown, but it is expected to be under $100 (~INR 9,000).
Acerpure Acerone Liquid S272E4 – A Slightly Bigger Alternative

The Acerpure Acerone Liquid S272E4 offers a larger 6.74-inch HD+ LCD display with the same waterdrop notch and 5MP front camera. On the back, however, it upgrades to a 20MP main sensor.
Interestingly, the S272E4 is powered by an even less powerful processor – the MediaTek Helio G36 (MT6765X), which was introduced just two years ago. It retains 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage, along with a 5,000mAh battery and Android 14.
Pokdepinion: While these devices carry the Acerpure Acerone branding, there is speculation that they might be licensed products manufactured by an Original Design Manufacturer (ODM). The full details will be revealed at the official launch on March 25.
