Kicking off our Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with the unboxing, it comes in a similar packaging as its predecessor last year. If anything, the difference is only in the picture of the device, this time with a 45° angled side profile with the S Pen right beside it. It’s minimalistic in design as usual and there seems to be no changes in its dimensions. Inside the box, we found the following items:

For our review unit, we received the Titanium Silverblue color option, which looks relatively plain but then again, a good number of color options this year either look odd or practically about the same. In fact, I had trouble telling three colors apart from each other, and I asked a number of people as well and they had a similar issue. this is specifically for Silverblue, Gray, and Whitesilver. The standard black colorway looks a bit odd given that the color isn’t uniformed so if you want an all-black look, you will need to go for the online-only Jetblack colorway.
While it looks mostly the same as its predecessor, the corners are more rounded but not as round as its other two siblings, the display got a 0.1-inch size increment as the bezels became even thinner, the anti-reflective coating on the screen has improved thanks to the new Gorilla Armor 2, and it got a noticeable weight reduction of about 14g as it currently weighs in at 218g now.

It’s worth noting that this does have Qi2 charging now, so wireless charging speeds have improved but what you need to know is that this is the non-magnet kind. This means that if you have accessories that are magnetic in nature like chargers, powerbanks and wallets, you will need to get a protective case that has built-in magnets or just install a magnetic ring in the rear if you prefer to go commando. Speaking of charging, we may see slightly better battery life as its S Pen has lost Bluetooth functionality, so it doesn’t require power anymore.
As usual, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra gets the latest Qualcomm flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, specifically fine-tuned for Samsung’s devices, and it does introduce AI improvements. The most tangible improvement you can experience is that you don’t have to fully rely on Galaxy AI as it has improved integration for Google’s Gemini AI. Samsung also claims that its thermals have improved over its predecessor but given the new chip, it’s hard to say if it will work well enough. We’ll put it to the test and see how it fares in the final, in-depth review.
