Samsung has just concluded its bi-annual Galaxy Unpacked keynote several hours ago, and the summer edition of Unpacked – which usually focuses on the company’s foldables – saw the introduction of three new models (Z Fold7, Z Flip7 & Z Flip7 FE), along with the new Galaxy Watch8 series as the newest member of the wearable family.
Galaxy Z Fold7

Leading the way is the latest foldable flagship, the Galaxy Z Fold7. The seventh-generation book-style foldable now boasts the slimmest profile ever in the Galaxy Z Fold series, now measuring 8.9mm (or 4.2mm when unfolded); it’s also the lightest model to date at just 215g. Display sizes are 6.5 inches for the outer display with 21:9 aspect ratio, and 8 inches for the internal display with a near 10:9 aspect ratio. The internal structure and the outer display have both been upgraded for better durability, though ingress protection rating remains at IP48.
Internally, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy chip powers the device, coupled with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Battery, however, remains on the small side – at just 4,400mAh, Samsung says it’s good for up to 24 hours of video playback. However, the charging speed of this foldable remain unchanged from its predecessor, meaning you get 25W from wired, and 15W maximum via wireless charging.
However, the new generation comes with several trade-offs, namely the removal of S Pen support and the departure of under-display camera technology for the internal camera, which means it now sticks to the tried-and-tested punch hole design. Speaking of which, the camera setup involves a primary 200MP sensor on the rear, complemented by an extra pair of 10MP sensors for ultrawide and telephoto duties. Both the external and internal front-facing cameras also use the 10MP sensors as well.
Software-wise, it comes shipped with OneUI 8 with Android 16’s innards, and Samsung claims they’re the fastest brand to ship a device with the latest version of Android (you also get 7 additional major updates on top of that). Unsurprisingly, Galaxy AI continues to be the focus in this keynote, and this time around users can expect to find new features like updated photo editing, enhanced Audio Eraser, multimodal Gemini Live integration, and more.
Galaxy Z Flip7 & Z Flip7 FE

For the clamshell models, Samsung has introduced two models: the standard Z Flip7, and the lite version in the form of Z Flip7 FE. The former comes with a 6.9-inch 21:9 AMOLED panel inside with 120Hz refresh rate and 2,600 nits max brightness, along with the new edge-to-edge cover display that measures 4.1 inches diagonally, which also supports 120Hz refresh rate. As for the FE model, it largely carries over the display specs from Z Flip6 with one exception – brighter internal display (now at 2,600 nits).
Both models adopt Samsung’s own chipsets, with the standard Z Flip7 featuring the new Exynos 2500 SoC, whereas the FE sticks to the last-gen Exynos 2400; no RAM upgrades here, and the FE model even gets a cut down to 8GB in all configurations. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any upgrades made on the camera department, so what you see in Z Flip6 (50MP+12MP rear, 10MP front) is what you get in both of the Z Flip7 variants.
While the Z Flip7 is slightly wider, taller and thinner than its predecessor, the Z Flip7 FE shares the exact same dimensions as the Z Flip6. The standard model gets a modest increase in battery capacity to 4,300mAh, whereas the FE does not; the former also gains Wi-Fi 7 support over the latter.
Galaxy Watch8 Series

Finally, there’s the Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic: both models now adopts the latest design trend in the form of squircle shape, though the latter also features the once-staple rotating bezel design. New in this generation include Antioxidant Index score and 3,000 nits displays, along with One UI 8 Watch (Wear OS 6) support out-of-the-box and Gemini AI onboard. The standard Watch8 is available in the usual two sizes – 40mm and 44mm – while the Classic model is exclusively available in 46mm size.
