Haier Malaysia has announced the launch of its new X Series washing machines, which includes the X5, X7, and flagship X9 models; each model integrates AI Wash and Essence Wash technologies to optimize cleaning performance while reducing water and energy consumption.

Here’s how the two key features of the X series work: AI Wash uses sensors to automatically detect fabric types, load size and water absorption rates, then adjusts the wash settings accordingly. Meanwhile, Essence Wash uses the brand’s proprietary premix and microbubble technology to dissolve detergent evenly and spray it directly onto fabrics for thorough cleaning.
A full wash cycle can be done in approximately 39 minutes, Haier claims – achieving a 37% reduction in cycle time compared to conventional models. Once the cycle is finished, Ultra Fresh Air feature steps in, where an internal fan activates and draws fresh air automatically to dry the inner drum, preventing odors and wrinkles from occurring when the laundry stayed inside the drum for extended periods. The control panel has also been redesigned with the new touchscreen “Color AI” interface, replacing buttons entirely (although the X5 still retains a rotary knob).
On a separate note, Haier Malaysia’s Managing Director, Fang Jing, said the company aims to achieve 30% annual growth in its washing machine segment by the end of 2025 through the new X series, alongside earlier launches such as the Haier L+ Washer Dryer introduced in May. The Haier X Series washing machines are now available for pre-order in Malaysia, with prices starting from RM2,249.
