[CES 2024] LG Unveils 2024 QNED TV Lineup with Better AI, Plus 98-Inch Option

LG Unveils 2024 QNED TV Lineup with Better AI, Plus 98-Inch Option

It is the CES season, at last – and we start with LG, which has announced its latest lineup of 2024 QNED and QNED Mini LED TVs, including an ultra-large 98-inch model, featuring updated AI processors, enhanced picture quality, and personalized features.

The α8 AI Processor boasts a 1.3x increase in AI performance, 2.3x enhancement in graphic performance, and 1.6x faster processing speed. AI Picture Pro is LG’s implementation of deep learning technologies, which helps “enriching the texture and fine details to present images.” Continuing the theme, there’s the Personalized Picture Wizard and AI Sound Pro which adapts visual and audio aspects of the experience to better suit the user.

The LG QNED Mini LED TV QNED90 model features “Million Grey Scale” with 20-bit depths of gray, which helps with delivering deep contrasts. These models, including the QNED95 and QNED80, come with a thickness of 29mm which can be wall-mounted. LG is also taking ideas from the smartphone industry by providing up to 5 years of software support to its TVs (both new and existing), through the webOS Re:New program.

Software-wise, the webOS smart TV platform allows users to create individual profiles, which “offer personalized recommendations by interpreting patterns from their comprehensive usage history.” The new home UI screen shows Dynamic Q Cards which are split into various groups, such as Home Office, Home Hub, Sports, and Games. They support Apple AirPlay and Chromecast; accessibility options are also available for users with unique needs.

LG’s 2024 QNED TV lineup includes various screen sizes, including an ultra-large 98-inch model, which hopes to address the demand for larger TVs in the premium LCD TV market. Smaller sizing options include 86, 75, 65, 55, 50, and 43-inch option. The company will be showcasing these new designs next week through the CES main event, so expect more details provided by then, such as availability and pricing.

Pokdepinion: Sounds like a minor spec bump on the hardware side of things, but we shall see.
