Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Esports Season 2021 Opens With Record Breaking Concurrent Views
Ubisoft has just revealed that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Esports Season 2021 features its best performance to date in terms of viewership. Season 2021 has the highest peak concurrent viewers and average minute audience results in each of its four regional leagues, including respective subdivisions. These four leagues include the European League, North American League, Latin-American League and the Asia-Pacific League.

The European League scored 110,000 peak concurrence viewers, its best peak concurrence viewers result to date for a regular playday. The number breaks the records of all 4 regional leagues regular playdays in Season 2020 with a difference of 117%. The peak was reached during an action-packed match opposing Rogue to Team Vitality, where Rogue managed to overcome Team Vitality’s match-long dominion to send them to the overtime and finally seize the win.
Retention metrics also saw a strong progression, with the Average Minute Audience increasing by 190% compared with Season 2020’s most performing playday, to reach 96,000 during Playday 2.
The North American League also saw records broken for the Rainbow Six Esports Season 2021. During the first match of the season held on 24 March, the North American League broke records by achieving its highest level of peak concurrent viewership with a massive 115,000. These numbers see an increase of 318% compared to the best performing playday in the 2020 season.
In addition, the North American League retention metrics also saw strong growth versus the 2020 season seeing an Average Minute Audience increase of 337% with 94,000.
Next, the Latin-American League Season 2021 debut surpassed expectations across all divisions, with all three subregions experiencing high viewership numbers. The Latin America South Division Playday 1 on 19 March kicked off the Latin-American League competition that culminated in 18,000 peak concurrent viewers and 15,400 Average Minute Audience, an improvement of 474% and 656% on concurrent viewers and Average Minute Audience compared to the best-performing playday in the 2020 Season.
In the Brazil Division, BR6 (Brasileirão) hit a record 60,600 peak concurrent viewers and 48,500 Average Minute Audience. This is a more than 40% and 103% improvement on concurrent viewers and Average Minute Audience respectively compared to the best playday of the 2020 Season. Additionally, the Mexico Division debut with terrific viewership, with Playday 1 reaching 16,300 concurrent viewers and 14,100 Average Minute Audience, marking an increase of 166% for concurrent viewers and 181% for Average Minute Audience.
In the Asia-Pacific League, the Asia-Pacific North Division Playday 2 culminated in 96,500 peak concurrent viewers and 76,300 Average Minute Audience, outperforming Playday 1’s strong performance. These numbers are an increase of 345% and 336% compared with the most performing playday of Season 2020.
Furthermore, the revamped South Division showed very promising results as well, illustrating the reinforced quality and competitiveness of the Australian and South-East-Asian scenes. After positive results in Playday 1, the Asia-Pacific South Division Playday 2 reached a record 71,000 peak concurrent viewers and 53,100 Average Minute Audience.
