Overall
5/10The League of Legends’ TLC Summer 2017 at Selangor Cyber Games concluded over the weekend. Here’s everything you missed at Paradigm Mall this past weekend.
Over the weekend, The Legend’s Circuit Summer tournament at Selangor Cyber Games was held at Paradigm Mall. It was a 2-day event which featured cosplayers, giveaways, and of course, the League of Legends tournament itself. For those of you who didn’t attend, let’s get down to the results.
The Legend’s Circuit Summer 2017 Results

The winner of The Legend’s Circuit Malaysia Grand Finals is Team KL Hunters. The TLC Summer 2017 tournament was held in conjunction with Selangor Cyber Games at Paradigm Mall, and the win marks the team’s 5th consecutive title.
The Grand Finals featured a double-elimination format that stretches back from TLC Playoffs, and was contested by Malaysia’s top 3 League of Legends finalists; KL Hunters, Eternity Esports, and Nirvana Gaming.
Apart from the RM40,000 prize money, the winning team will qualify for the Garena Premier League, (GPL) which will be held on 25th August to 27th August 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand. For those of you who aren’t aware, GPL is a regional tournament featuring 7 Southeast Asian representatives which leads to 2 qualifying slots into the League of Legends World Championships.
Dickson Lee, eSports Commissioner from Garena Malaysia, said:
As eSports continues to grow in Malaysia, the possibilities are limitless for League of Legends. We strongly believe that the reveal of LCM comes at the right time as there has never been this much activation for eSports, campus, community, and the game itself.
If you were wondering what Dickson Lee meant by LCM, it has been announced that TLC Malaysia will be reformed to League Championship Malaysia (LCM). Apart from the ultimate goal for this still being similar to TLC Malaysia, there’s not much details available about this at the moment but we expect to hear more about this in the future.
But Wait, There’s More!
Aside from the League of Legends TLC Summer 2017 tournament, there were multiple game tournaments that were held as well. Under Selangor Cyber Games, there was a tournament for DotA 2, FIFA Online 3, and my personal favourite, Tekken 7.
Moreover, the Cosplay Collision between 10 local cosplayers finished with Cosplayer Dovah as Blood Moon Kalista walking away with a grand prize RM3,000. The winner was decided by guest judges, which includes professional cosplayer Aza Miyuko from South Korea, along with Weon Haur and Fujiwara from Malaysia.
Apart from that, there were also talented artists that were selling League of Legends artworks, and booths dedicated to the event’s sponsors. This includes Lenovo Legion, Digi, Time Fibre Internet, and Logitech.
You’d think that with League of Legends having the main focus, the other games would have very little participation but you’d be surprised. The tournament area for the other games was jam-packed with people.

This was definitely one of the more successful eSports events we’ve had in a while, with plenty of others turning into major disappointments in terms of turnout and technicalities. The only issue I see for this event is the venue, as tournament area for the other games as well as some of the artist booths were too cramped. Not only that, some of the booths seem to be too far away from the main attraction that it seems almost pointless for them to set up booths there. Just something for the organizers to take note of next time around.
Everything else was smooth as butter and if there were any issues, it’s not something I noticed, which means the organizers did a good job in taking care of it. We at Pokde.net certainly hope to see more eSports events following the standard has been set for this eSports event overall. Kudos to both Garena and Mineski Events Team.
