At IFA Berlin, HUAWEI has introduced to the public their first AI mobile chipset, Kirin 970, and along with that the unveiling of the HUAWEI Mate 10 series. The series will feature the brand new Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, and the Porsche Design Mate 10.
HUAWEI Mate 10 Series
The devices feature the world’s first AI processor for smartphone that comes with a dedicated Neural Network Progressing Unit. For the Mate 10, it features a 3D Glass Body featuring a near-bezel-less and is 5.9-inch in size with a 16:9 display. Coming with a FullView Display and HDR10, it should give more brighter colors for its display. In terms of internal memory, Mate 10 64GB with 4GB RAM.
Packed under the hood of both Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro is a 4000mAh battery with smart battery management which allocates resources to maximize battery life. You can charge the device from 1% to 20% in 10 minutes, so they claim. They also share a dual camera at the rear, featuring 12MP RGB + 20MP monochrome lense along with Optical Image Stabilization.
HUAWEI Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro will feature EMUI 8.0, which is based of Android 8.0 Oreo. It is set to include an AI Engine to fully capitalize the Kirin 970 chipset.
In terms of difference, the Mate 10 Pro will feature a 6-inch with a 18:9 OLED display. It is also IP67 water and dust resistant. Packed in the device is 128GB of internal memory and comes with 6GB RAM.
Besides the obvious difference in design, the Porsche Design Mate 10 will have similar specifications with the Mate 10 Pro. Despite that, it comes with a huge 256GB internal memory paired with 6GB RAM.
Besides the devices, HUAWEI also has introduce their new accessories, which includes; the EnVizion 360 Camera, SuperCharge Power Bank, and Smart Scale. The EnVizion 360 Camera can shoot 5K photos and 360-degree 2K videos with multiple viewing modes. Where else the Smart Scale can monitor and analyze health information such as body fat percentage and BMI through an app.
The Mate 10 Series will be made available in late October with the Mate 10 coming first, while the Mate 10 Pro and Porsche Design will come at mid-November. Prices are yet to be confirmed in Malaysian Ringgit just of yet, but in Euro it’s been confirmed. Mate 10 will be priced at 699 Euros, the Mate 10 Pro at 799 Euros, and the Porsche Design coming in at 1395 Euros.
