Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2S Set To Receive Mi Mix 3 Camera Features

While the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 was just revealed just recently, it seems that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and Mi 8 will be getting some of the camera tech as the new phone.

Xiaomi Mi 8 & Mi Mix 2S To Get Camera Update

The news was revealed by Xiaomi founder, Lei Jun, where they aim in bringing the new Mi Mix 3’s camera tech to both the Mi 8 and Mi Mix 3S. He has said that the upgrade is possible since all three devices are using the exact same rear-camera hardware.

Though all three devices are using a 12MP regular Sony IMX 363 and 12MP telephoto lens, early signs are indicating that the Mi Mix 3’s camera provides a big improvement compared to the rest, especially in a low-light environment.

It was revealed that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 had a DxOMark score of 103, which is the same score that the Galaxy Note 9 received. Compared to the Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2S, they had 99 and 101 scores respectively.

This is definitely good news to current Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2S users. However, Lei Jun did not give a precise date on when they will be receiving the update.
