Google officially lifted the curtains off of their Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones on October 4th of last year and according to a picture sent to fellow tech heads Droid-Life which suggests that Google’s Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones might be unveiled this October 4th as well. Maybe Google is hoping that lightning will strike twice?

The aforementioned picture, a billboard to be exact, was spotted somewhere in Boston, with a cryptic caption on it that says “Ask more of your phone” together with Google’s ‘G’ logo underneath it and the October 4 date.

What could this possibly mean? One could speculate that Google may be introducing an improved and updated version of the Google Assistant or maybe a new virtual personal assistant altogether that’s exclusive to both Pixel devices? Something along the lines of Samsung’s Bixby perhaps? Or it might not be about that at all and maybe it is literally about something new you can do with the devices. Some new features maybe. The caption is pretty obscure so the only thing we can do right now is to merely speculate.

What we do know however, well if these leaks are to be believed is how Google’s Pixel 2 will probably look like. Again made by HTC, who made the original Pixel and Pixel XL, the design looks a lot closer to the original Pixel barring a few design changes here and there. One major design feature is definitely the fact that the Pixel 2 retains a single rear camera setup instead of a dual camera setup that pretty every other manufacturer is currently adopting. On the hand, we can’t say for sure about the Pixel XL 2 though since it’s rumoured to be manufactured by LG so it might sport a dual camera setup akin to LG’s latest devices such as the LG G6 and the LG V30.

Then again these are all just rumours with nothing concrete yet. I guess the only thing we can do is to wait until October 4 to know for sure.

Pokdepinion:  Last year’s Pixel devices scored big across the board with their camera and was pretty well received all around. So I’m pretty excited as to what Google will do with both their Pixel devices this year.
