Apple today announced the latest Mac mini, now powered by the M4 and M4 Pro chips in an even smaller 5×5-inch chassis, less than half the footprint compared to its predecessor. This marks the third Apple product to feature M4 silicon, following the new iPad Pro and the iMac.
M4 Mac mini
According to Apple, Mac mini’s smaller form factor utilizes a thermal structure that “guides air into different levels of the system,” and ultimately dumping the heat through the bottom exhaust port. You have two processor options: the vanilla M4 (10-core CPU+GPU), or the beefed-up M4 Pro with 12-core CPU, 16-core GPU.
The I/O is also updated, now featuring a pair of USB-C (USB3) in the front along with a high-impedance headphone jack; rear side features three Thunderbolt 4 ports (Thunderbolt 5 for the M4 Pro variant), an HDMI port, Ethernet port, and the AC input. The M4 chip also qualifies for Apple Intelligence support, now rolling out in limited capacity with more features to arrive starting next month.
The new Mac mini with M4 and M4 Pro chips will be available for order soon on Apple Store and through Apple resellers in Malaysia, starting at RM2,499 for the M4 model and RM5,999 for the M4 Pro.
