AMD Ryzen 5 7500F Is The First Zen 4 CPU With No Onboard Graphics
AMD for the first time ever in its Ryzen era has introduced the full lineup of CPU with onboard graphics by default – which used to be exclusively a G-series affair. Today, the situation is reversed, as the appearance of new model named Ryzen 5 7500F will be the first in the Zen 4 lineup to come without onboard graphics attached.
The F-series naming is likely no coincidence as Intel also labels their GPU-less versions of their chips under the ‘F’ moniker. As for the specs, the 7500F comes with 6 cores, and clockspeed rated at 5.0GHz, 100MHz lower than the low-power Ryzen 5 7600. PugetBench already has an entry with this chip running on an X670E motherboard paired with DDR5-4800 memory.
The reason why Zen 4 comes with iGPU by default and this F-series chips exist is down to the placement of graphics blocks in the chip. The onboard graphics is physically located in the I/O die, so any defective I/O dies (that are functional without iGPU otherwise) can be repurposed as GPU-less versions sold for cheaper prices for those who may not need onboard graphics. This is in contrast to previous generations where only G-series chips, itself based on mobile architectures, comes with onboard graphics.

Pokdepinion: The F-series should introduce a small price cut compared to standard counterparts, and it’s likely a 65W part too given the specs known so far.
