AMD Clears Up Ryzen 7000 Mobile APU Naming Convention With New Label Sticker

AMD has transitioned to a new naming system for its Ryzen 7000 mobile APUs, to which it gained some criticism over the complicated numbering – which is intended for covering Zen 2, Zen 3, Zen 3+, Zen 4, RDNA 2, RDNA 3 and Vega architectures all under one single model family that releases on the same year. With all the numbers spanning from 7020, 7030, 7035, 7040 and 7045, the chipmaker has provided a way for easier identification if consumers are looking for the most up-to-date hardware.
Basically, all Zen 4 family products (Ryzen 7040, 7045 series) will use the new orange-colored sticker that visually looks similar to AMD Radeon sticker on laptops. Any refreshed hardware (prior generations such as Ryzen 7020, 7030 and 7035 series) will instead use the old version of the sticker. Since Ryzen 7040/7045 series APUs are still very new, with models still on its way into Malaysia – for now there isn’t much sighting on laptops powered by these chips. Though, Notebookcheck has got themselves two models (both from ASUS) that is seen with the new sticker:
