This may be the closest one to confirm the existence of Strix Halo: YouTube channel Moore’s Law is Dead has revealed what looks to be an official render image of AMD’s upcoming Apple M-series competitor, the Ryzen AI MAX PRO series.

Ryzen AI MAX PRO

The render image shows what is likely two CCDs (Core Complex Dies) accompanied by what is presumed to be GPU and the rest of the silicon down below, which naturally occupies quite a bit of space to pack allegedly up to 40 RDNA3.5 Compute Units. The two CCDs accounts for up to 16 Zen 5 cores, which means this chip should come with plenty of compute firepower available.

Previous leaks has already delved into the lineup of the Ryzen AI Max series, but nothing has pointed to a commercial version until now, and this leak will largely confirm this assumption. So far, three SKUs have been revealed, which is the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, Ryzen AI Max 390, and the Ryzen AI Max 385. They allegedly feature 16, 12, and 8 CPU cores respectively. No Ryzen AI Max PRO variants has been discovered thus far.

It’s safe to say the launch of Ryzen AI Max and its PRO counterpart will be reasonably close by this point, given the amount of leaks that has been gathered thus far – it’s likely that AMD will officially reveal the new lineup in CES 2025, which will begin in this coming January.
