The leaks seems to be true: earlier this month, leaks suggested that Intel will introduce ‘Core Ultra X’ branding to specific SKUs, which was later revealed to be a designation for models with extra beefy onboard graphics. Recently, one such model – the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H – has appeared on Geekbench with some new numbers tagging along.

The Geekbench result contains some important information: first up, the Core Ultra X7 358H features a total of 16 cores reported in two clusters, which somewhat lines up with an earlier 4P+8E+4LPE claim in terms of core configurations (E-core and LPE-core are technically the same, only difference being power efficiency). It has a maximum reported clock speed of 4,776MHz, indicating that at least 4.8GHz of clock speed is achievable on this chip.

The ‘X’ part in its name indicates the full-fat 12-core Xe3-based integrated graphics, as seen in the listing 96 Compute Units (12 cores x 8 CUs each = 96 CUs). The GPU name even indicates that it uses 16GB of shared memory pool, whereas the system memory reports 30.47GB, rounding off to 32GB for the closest-matching common figure. While the performance is not necessarily final, the OpenCL score as shown here is roughly 25% faster than Arc 140T found in Lunar Lake (Core Ultra 200V) processors.

Coming back to the laptop model itself, the designation “GA405” for Zephyrus G14 indicates that ASUS is preparing for a major redesign for the 14-inch premium gaming laptop. There has been two major generations of Zephyrus G14 laptops, which started out with GA401 debuting alongside Ryzen 4000 series processors, followed by the GA403 redesign that you can currently buy today. If leaks are indeed correct, you can see this laptop hitting the shelves come this January when Intel officially reveals the Panther Lake-based lineup by then.
