Cooler Master makes GPUs – sort of. They don’t officially sell AIB cards to regular customers, but instead sells them through system integrators in China, so it’s still a rare breed all things considered. This particular RTX 5080 variant (yes, not even the RTX 5090) is so gigantic in size that it even outgrown ASUS’s massive ROG Astral RTX 5090 card.

There’s a reason behind the size, however. The fans responsible for cooling the Blackwell silicon can be swapped into any standard 120mm fan of your choosing, hence the small trade-off to that modularity is the extra size it comes with instead of directly integrating the fans into the shroud itself. All told, the card measures a whopping 90mm thick – more than 4 slots – and fitting all three 120mm fans meant the length is definitely in excess of 360mm. (Side note, CM did something similar two years ago.)

With a fan setup this overkill, forget about noises – although you do have the opportunity to swap in a trio of Noctua fans if you really want to shed that last bit of extra noise off the card that is modest in power draw considering its proportions. Still, another positive benefit of this is the repairability: if any of the fans went bust, it’s just a simple matter of slotting in a new one, which doesn’t require complex disassembly of the card or even strapping a fan with zip ties.

That said, despite its gigantic size, it’s actually one of the cleanest looking cards from this generation with the brushed metal shroud that somewhat reminds me of AMD’s Radeon VII card. Sometimes simplicity just works – but unfortunately, unless you’re a Chinese resident, you probably can’t get one of these right now. Perhaps Cooler Master can consider releasing this as a standalone card?
Pokdepinion: If the card sizes are heading to the direction that we’re looking at today, might as well make it modular for customization’s sake.
