For a number of Malaysians, you will be eligible for the TIME Pakej MyKabel plan, making their 100Mbps home fibre internet plan more affordable than ever. Here’s the catch.

TIME Pakej MyKabel

TIME Pakej MyKabel Makes Their 100Mbps More Affordable, But There's A Catch 22

Today, TIME introduced a new fiber plan called Pakej MyKabel. This plan offers 100Mbps service for RM69 per month, but it is not available to everyone. It is a targeted offering specifically for those in the B40 income group, senior citizens, disabled persons, and veterans as part of the government’s Pakej Perpaduan initiative for fixed broadband.

Pakej MyKabel can only be obtained in Program Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) areas covered by TIME, of which there are only a few at present. The list of TIME-covered PPR areas is currently as follows:

  • PPR Kampung Baru HICOM, Selangor
  • PPR Kota Damansara, Selangor
  • PPR Lembah Subang, Selangor
  • PPR Taman Putra Damai, Selangor (Lembah Subang 1)
  • PPR Kerinchi, Kuala Lumpur
  • PPR UDA Utama, Johor
  • PPR Taman Perling, Johor (Jalan Rawa 1)
  • PPR Taman Perling, Johor (Jalan Rawa 7)

The monthly fee for Pakej MyKabel is RM69 per month, instead of the regular RM99, due to a RM30 monthly rebate for TIME Fibre Home 100Mbps customers. This rebate is valid for the full 24-month contract period.

Pakej MyKabel follows the same availability TIMEline as Pakej Perpaduan. Eligible customers can apply for TIME’s Pakej MyKabel starting in March and registration will remain open until December 31, 2023.

Pokdepinion: It’s a good move not just for the people who would benefit from the lower cost, but also the company as they would get a higher number of users. If these people are satisfied with their service and have the means, they would soon upgrade to a faster plan.
