If you’ve tried to search for a random song before, you probably tried tools like Shazam. Google is working on a similar feature, though it will be significantly more accessible as it will be directly integrated into Circle to Search.
Circle To Search Music

This feature, known as “Audio search,” was first hinted at in an APK teardown by Android Authority earlier this year. The feature’s description suggested it would help recognize songs playing on your device; however, in the beta version 15.32.26 of the Google app, it is revealed that it may also identify music playing in your environment or even songs you hum.
To use this feature, simply tap the music note button that appears next to the search field. By tapping this icon, Google will start listening and searching for the song. However, as the publication noted, the feature is currently not working, which can be attributed to a server-side issue given that this feature is still in development.
It remains to be seen how effective the search engine will be when it comes to identifying songs, especially obscure ones. No word on when the feature will be available, but given its completeness it’s safe to say a month or two would be a good guess.
Pokdepinion: The more I think about it, the more I feel like Circle to Search is just a quick-access version of Google Search. Which is pretty neat, I’d say.
