AMD’s admittedly not-so-consumer-friendly rebranding of its mobile processors has pretty much reshuffled the naming conventions from all we’ve known from Team Red in the past, but we know the top chip that is known so far is the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. Why not ‘390’? Turns out, there’s more to come.
Bigger Ryzen AI 9 HX Chips?

Resident CPU leaker Golden Pig Upgrade (金猪升级包) has posted on Weibo with a simple statement:
Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 isn’t the limit of the unorthodox naming yet, there’s big stuff to come, literally “big”
So, the takeaway here is whatever chip that comes next from AMD, it’s likely going to be a physically big chip. This could mean a few possibilities – a Strix Point chip with even more cores? Or possibly the leaker is referencing Strix Halo, another APU that packs 16 Zen 5 cores with a 40 CU RDNA 3.5 GPU onboard? If that were to happen, there’s more numbers to go as far as 300 series is concerned. Think 380, 385, or 395 if AMD really wants to stretch it.
Leaks thus far suggests that Strix Halo is launching sometime in 2025, so there is still some time for more leaks to emerge and clarify the mystery of the “big” CPU. Will Intel be able to respond? Time will tell.
Pokdepinion: All I ask is straightforward names. Which is apparently a tough ask these days.
