LG is among a limited number of companies to complete NVIDIA’s technical verification process for this category of equipment – the certification designates LG as a verified NVIDIA partner for “AI Factory” infrastructure, a status the company said can reduce procurement risks and support qualification processes for hyperscalers and datacenter operators pursuing large-scale AI infrastructure deployments.

The certified 600kW CDU is designed to manage thermal loads generated by datacenter GPUs, using Direct-to-Chip (DTC) liquid cooling method that delivers coolant directly to heat-generating components such as GPUs and CPUs, operating alongside existing air-cooling systems in a “hybrid cooling” configuration.

Per the company, the unit is designed to maintain temperature control precision of ±0.25°C and includes virtual sensor technology for real-time monitoring and leak detection. The unit is compatible with LG’s Data Center Cooling Control Manager (DCCM), which provides predictive control and centralized monitoring, and supports integration with datacenter management systems through standard communication protocols.

The cooling solutions are validated at a dedicated Chip-to-Chiller validation site in Pyeongtaek, where LG tests transient responses, temperature changes and low-load stability across the cooling chain, from chip load and cold plates to the CDU and chiller. Further plans to pursue NVIDIA certification for additional CDU models are in the works, including 1MW, 2.5MW and 4MW variants; simultaneously, LG has also secured datacenter cooling projects in North America and at the Sinar Mas datacenter in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Pokdepinion: No surprise, given its well-known expertise in HVAC systems.
