Weyrdworks, an independent game developer based in Kuala Lumpur, has released a demo for Super SteamPuff: Double Reload on Steam. The local studio has previously developed titles including Weyrdlets 2.0, Unicorns on Unicycles, WarPods and Velocibox.
Super SteamPuff: Double Reload Rebuilt For PC
Strictly speaking, the game is not exactly new – it was originally released on mobile platforms nearly a decade ago, but has now been rebuilt for PC. According to Weyrdworks, the rebuilt version retains the arcade gameplay of the original while adding local co-op, local PvP modes, refined controls and expanded content for PC players.
The game involves players dodging enemy attacks, engaging waves of enemies, collecting weapon pickups and facing boss encounters in arcade-style battles.
The demo includes eight playable characters, referred to as Puffs, each with distinct perks and abilities; it also features four boss battles, involving characters named the Evil Satellite, Golden Pyramid, Flying Spaghetti Monster and Starhive. Additional demo content includes an Endless Mode allowing players to progress through six waves, along with local multiplayer functionality covering both co-op and PvP formats.
The full version of the game is planned to include 44 playable Puffs, 15 boss battles, an unrestricted Endless Mode, a Boss Hunt mode and additional weapons, enemies and multiplayer features.
The Super SteamPuff: Double Reload demo is now available on Steam – players can download the demo and add the full game to their wishlist to receive notification when it launches.
